I thought I'd start a thread for books about writing. Let us know any books you have found helpful. "Writer's Market"- This is as big as a phone book but loaded with information about publishers and agents for all styles from technical articles, to novels, to life stories, to poetry. It is daunting but worth a look at if you have any sites on eventually getting published. "What If? Writing Exercises for Fiction Writers" - by Anne Bernays and Pamela Painter. Lots of great exercises, some of which do not take much time but get you thinking. "Painless Grammar" - Rebbecca Elliott, Ph.D. - Fun well laid out, easy to read help with grammar.

I now have read half of that book "What If?" and now even more strongly recommend it. Some of the exercises are quite easy but very good. I have already ended up with 2 short stories inspired by the exercises that I may like enough to polish and post. It is VERY EXCELLENT in terms of simple ways to inspire, start and develop ideas for stories.
